The New Solenoid has a "White Retainer"  That Holds The Piston In.

This Will Work Only With The New Irritrol Valves. 

If, Your Irritrol Valve Was Manufactured before 2003 Or The Solenoid Of Another Manufacture's Valve You Are Replacing. Just "Remove" The White Retainer. Then, This Solenoid Will Work With Your Valve.

Always Use Depending on Wire Size. The 3m 316 IR or King Wire Connectors For a Water Tight Seal. Two per solenoid valve. To Prevent Shorts in Your System. Do it Right The First Time!
